International Students
Academic Programmes

Te Puke High School operates according to the standard New Zealand school year. Students in Years 11, 12 and 13 finish when their national external exams (NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3) are completed, which is usually at the end of November or very early in December. Years 9 and 10 students are required to stay until the end of their school year, which is mid-December.

International students are welcome at enrol at Te Puke High School at any stage of the year.  However, we recommend that international students beginning their studies at the beginning of a term.  This makes it easier to settle into the academic programme developed for each international student. International students are expected to participate in all aspects of the curriculum.

English support (ESOL) is offered to all international students with English as their second language. Support for the IELTs examination can be provided if required.

Students can enter for national examinations, National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), in Years 11, 12 and 13.

Possible examination entrance fees:

  • NCEA, Levels 1, 2 and 3 NZ $383.30 (per year).
  • IELTS Examination NZ $365.
